What types of eCig industry businesses does Sami Payments accept?

Sami Payments accepts a wide range of US-based retail, e-commerce and mobile businesses related to e-cigarettes and vaping. These include eJuice, e-Cig, glass, tobacco shops, tobacconists, vaporizers, vapers, vaping pods, cigarettes, accessories, smoking lounges and related goods and services. However, we are currently unable to accept businesses selling unauthorized e-juice flavors, such as fruit and mint. The FDA only approves tobacco and menthol flavored e-cigarettes.

Is Sami Payments compatible with my existing Vape and eCig POS or eCommerce software platform?

Established vaping/e-cigarette companies typically have a preferred CRM, shopping cart, or e-commerce software platform they use, and we'll be happy to help.

Sami Payments vaping and e-cigarette Merchant Accounts, either directly or through a payment gateway, are compatible and integrate with the following e-commerce, POS and marketing automation platforms:

Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, Volusion, ClickFunnels, InfusionSoft and OntraPort. We are also compatible with many other CRM and software packages. What criteria must my vaping or e-cigarette business meet to be approved for a Merchant Account by Sami Payments?

To be approved, your companies must meet the following criteria:

  • You must follow the latest FDA rules and regulations regarding the sale of electronic cigarette products.
  • You should only sell vaporizers that work with e-juices;
  • You should not sell vaporizers that can be used with herbs or flowering plants;
  • You must not display any images of marijuana/cannabis of any kind on the Products or on the Website.

If you plan to accept eCommerce payments, the subscription will also require the following before approval:

  • A secure website with an SSL certificate (*minimum 128-bit encryption, 1024-bit sharing and https://). Optional providers: Comodo, GoDaddy.
  • Visible logos of Visa, MasterCard, Discover and AmEx on your payment page. Optional font: Logos.
  • Complete descriptions of the products or service plans sold.
  • A functional shopping cart or checkout page.

Why do banks and credit card processors consider my e-cigarette or vaporizer business high risk?

        Most credit card processors do not accept e-cigarette and vaporizer merchants for two reasons:

  1. Products related to e-cigarettes have age restrictions and are regulated by the federal government. That means they require additional underwriting knowledge and procedures on the part of the credit card processor, which many processors are not prepared to offer.
  2. E-cigarette and vaporizer products have become a “political” issue , and many sponsoring banks and their credit card processors have decided that the political costs to their businesses outweigh the benefits and therefore refuse to offer merchant services to legitimate, well-run e-cigarettes and e-cigarettes.
